ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN III (Req 25 061)

Department: Program Management Contract
Location: Lexington Park, MD

Responsibilities: Perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed. This technician selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents. This technician receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed; performs recurring work independently; and has work reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. Performs duties such as the following:

  • Construct components, subunits, or simple models or adapt standard equipment. May troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
  • Follows specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
  • Conduct various tests or experiments, which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement; select, set up, and operate standard test equipment and records test data.
  • Extract and compile a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc.; process data, identify errors or inconsistencies; and select methods of data presentation.
  • Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials, which are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts. Develop information concerning previous operational failures and modifications. Use judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Four (4) to ten (10) years of experience performing the tasking listed above in support of DoD is required. Experience directly supporting C-UAS systems and subsystems is preferred.

Other: An Active Secret Security Clearance is required. CONUS and OCONUS travel is required for this position.

Wage Range Information: This full-time position’s wage range is $28 - $34/hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Full-time employees are also eligible for 2 weeks’ vacation leave accrual per year (this accrual increase as tenure with company increases), 7 days sick leave, and 11 paid holidays, with additional leave time available for bereavement, jury duty, and military training days throughout the year.
