TECHNICAL WRITER (Req 24 029)

Department: Program Management Contract
Location: California, MD

Responsibilities: Develop, write, and edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, installations, operations, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment. Observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail. Interview production and engineering personnel and reads journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods, and reviews manufacturer’s and trade catalogs, drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Five (5) years experience providing technical writing and/or editing support within DoD, preferably the Navy. Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office products. Experience developing and applying MS Word styles and templates. Demonstrated experience coordinating with document authors in the drafting, review, and publication of technical documentation. Attention to detail in reviewing project documentation for content, formatting, consistency, and grammar. Ability to write clear, logically sequenced, and grammatically correct documents
