JUNIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER (Req 18 132)

Department: Program Management Contract
Location: Patuxent River, MD

Responsibilities: Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test or evaluate military weapon systems and provide support to hardware and software development tasking involving system design and feasibility evaluation, system integration, field service analysis, and installation testing and evaluation of ID, ECMS, ATC equipment, systems and subsystems. Uses IEEE ISO/IEC 26702:2007, Systems engineering - Application and management of the systems engineering process; 12207:2008 - IEEE Systems and software engineering - Software life cycle processes and the SEI CMMI for Development, Version 1.3 model for guidance in providing systems and software engineering products and services.

The position is located at a US Navy facility in Southern Maryland in support of Identification, Friend or Foe (IFF) technology and involves direct customer interaction and cross-organization teamwork. The successful candidate must  either possess, or can obtain, at minimum, a Secret security clearance.

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or another engineering discipline from an ABET accredited school.

Experience: A total of one (1) year of experience performing the foregoing functions. Breadth of technical knowledge covering electronics, mechanical, and computer science disciplines, typically demonstrated through collegiate engineering project experience, and the ability to explain how relevant experience has prepared the candidate for success in a professional engineering environment. Demonstrated written communications ability above what is normally expected of an entry-level engineer. Leadership potential beyond what is typically expected of an entry-level engineer typically demonstrated through collegiate leadership experience and professional demeanor.

Other: The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance is required.
